The artificial cervical disc market continues to expand, driven by an aging population, technological advancements, and a growing preference for minimally invasive procedures. Report Prime projects the market will increase from $2 billion in 2023 to $2.8 billion by 2030, with a CAGR of 4.3%. Despite this positive outlook, the industry faces hurdles such as high implant costs and limited reimbursement policies in certain regions.
Many weeks ago, with the Orthofix’s earnings report, we learned about the discontinuation of its M6 prosthesis as the company shifts investment toward other projects. This came as a surprising announcement, considering the M6 is a well-established and widely used prosthesis, with over 70,000 devices implanted in more than 20 countries. In the market, there are many options that you can see in the cervical artificial discs section:
Featured:
MOVE-C® (NGMedical)
MOVE-C combines the features of a second generation disc prosthesis with the simple implantation technique of a cervical cage. The prosthesis offers physiological motion in all 6 planes including axial damping with progressive resistance to motion. Furthermore, MOVE-C is the first prosthesis with additively manufactured titanium endplates and avoids the use of PE.
Features:
- Built-in lordosis
- Unique Function & Simplicity: MOVE-C enables physiological movement in all 6 degrees of freedom with axial damping and progressive increase in resistance. Simple and safe without a separate core.
- Physiological ROM in 6 directions with defined neutral zone
- Pre-mounted on implant holder
PRODISC C Vivo (Centinel Spine)

Thanks for this review!
But you’ve forgotten about Triadyme from Dymicron, or is it under your radar? Definitely one to look at, with no debris (as it’s made of synthetic diamond) and biomechanics equal to the natural (healthy) disc. I believe it’s one you shouldn’t miss!
I’ll keep on reading your very valuable reports.
Thank you so much for following us and for your valuable comment! Indeed, we missed that prosthesis and a few others. We apologize for the error, as there must have been a mistake while editing the final version of the post. We truly appreciate you sharing the errors with us so we can address them.
