Patriot SI™

April 18, 2016 By SPINEMarketGroup

The Patriot SI™ is a small implant designed to stabilize and help fuse the sacroiliac (SI) joint, which connects your spine to your pelvis. It’s made of titanium and coated with a material that may help the bones fuse more effectively. During the procedure, the implant is placed from the back (posterior approach) between the sacrum and ilium using special threading to keep it secure. This can help reduce pain caused by too much movement in the joint.

The Patriot SI is a posterior Implant System to be placed in-line with the SI joint.

This special surgical technique involves preparing the SI joint for fusion by roughening the bone surface. The surface of the implant is rough, which may help your bone attach to it better making fusion more likely and follows important AO orthopedic principles to help the joint fuse properly.

It’s the only system that can be guided precisely into place within the SI joint using a guidewire through the implant. It’s made with a special design and material to help your bone grow through it and fuse the joint. It’s placed from the back in a controlled way using a guidewire.

In tests, using this technique resulted in better stability than other methods*.
