Breakthrough design engineering and high performance polymers have enabled Neo Medical to optimize the traditional inventory of 200+ screw sizes and design variations, into only 14 state of the art screws, while providing equivalent standard of care treatment options, without the burden of an unnecessarily complex and massive inventory.

Each surgical step has been meticulously optimized, resulting in a simpler procedure with higher efficiency and reduced OR time. The Neo system design transforms today’s available typical Instrumentation set of 7 trays, 60 + instruments, weighing up to 70 kg / 155 lbs to only 5 instruments, weighing a total of approximately 1 kg / 2.2 lbs, while preserving the surgical options for the surgeon.

Benefits:

  • Exclusive Controlled Fixation Capability: Reproducible ability to apply appropriate mechanical forces to achieve an optimal correction and when assembling and locking a pedicle screw construct to reduce implant loosening, hardware failutres and support improved outcomes
  • Perioperatively Integrated Multi-Functional Instruments: 5 multi-functional instruments that replace 3 to 7 current trays which are universal, light weight and sterile with exclusive patented capabilities to enable full functionality for 90%+ of cases with minimal steps and increased efficiency gains
  • Universal Screw with Touch-Free Implant Protection: Universal, all-features-in-one screw design incorporates 16 possible feature combinations that come sterile packed and pre-mounted with a touch free dilation/protection sleeve enabling safety and flexibility

About Neo Medical

Co-founded by Vincent Lefauconnier and Jonas Larsson, Neo Medical is based near Lausanne, Switzerland – an internationally renowned high-tech hub for medtech. The founding team met while working together at Stryker and over time realized they shared a common vision of revolutionizing the way spinal surgery is being done.

Neo Medical has developed a universal value-based care surgical platform designed to support improved patient outcomes at an overall lower cost in an environmentally friendly way. This unique platform includes a proprietary Controlled-Fixation technology designed to enable a post-operative more anatomically neutral, balanced, and stable spine.
The company’s solutions enable spine surgeons to limit stress overload on patients’ spines, thus potentially reducing risks of screw loosening, hardware failure, and eventually further reducing re-operation risks, while improving overall patient outcomes.

Neo’s fusion solutions go beyond being just functional.  Our value-based care approach provides all the stakeholders involved in spinal surgery an easier, reproducible and more efficient experience by reducing the overall environmental footprint.
