Telluride 2 MIS

May 9, 2015 By SPINEMarketGroup

Telluride 2 MIS Spinal Fixation System is a simple, robust and versatile minimally invasive pedicle screw and rod system that enables surgeons to provide vertebral stabilization in the thoracolumbar and sacral regions through a percutaneous or mini-open technique.

Features:

Design Rationale

  • Screw/tower interface assembles into a rigid and strong construct, preventing unintentional screw disengagement
  • All-in-one compressor/distractor instrument for powerful, precise and effective compression and/or distraction
  • Innovative and robust percutaneous inserter for simple rod insertion and seating

Innovation

  • Small diameter MIS tower provides access with minimal tissue disruption
  • Unique saddle design prevents rod slippage in vivo
  • All Biomet posterior fixation systems are compatible for ease of use in revision surgery

Improved Patient Comfort and Recovery

  • Percutaneous approach requires a much smaller incision, reducing immediate post-op pain and long-term scarring
  • Reduced tissue trauma and pain accelerates recovery and expedites a quick return to an active lifestyle

About MIS

The trend in spine surgery for many procedures has been moving toward minimally invasive approaches. These include spine surgery for lumbar fusion, deformity surgery, cervical surgery and sacroiliac joint fusion. The benefits of minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) include decreased pain, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery. However, there is a difficult learning curve for surgeons when mastering MIS procedures. Increasing familiarity with MIS techniques creates more options for surgeons treating spine conditions with the potential to decrease surgical complications. The goal of this conference is to update neurological and orthopedic surgeons, as well as allied health professionals on the latest advances in MIS surgical techniques.
