VB Spine Joins the American Spine Registry as Industry Sponsor

September 7, 2025 By SPINEMarketGroup

ROSEMONT, Ill., Sept. 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The American Spine Registry (ASR), a collaborative effort between the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), today announced that VB Spine LLC (VB Spine) has joined as an official industry sponsor. This partnership advances the future of spine surgery through data-driven outcomes research, while providing critical industry support to expand ASR’s comprehensive data collection platform.

“With support from VB Spine, we are accelerating our mission to improve patient care and advance the science of spine surgery,” said Steven D. Glassman, MD, FAAOS, co-chair of the ASR Executive Committee. “Given that degenerative spine conditions affect millions of patients and drive significant healthcare costs, this partnership represents a step forward in our ability to generate the evidence-based insights that surgeons and patients need to make informed treatment decisions.”

“The ASR helps create a clearer picture of how spine procedures and treatments perform in the real world,” said Mohamad Bydon, MD, chair of NeuroPoint Alliance and vice chair of the ASR. “VB Spine’s sponsorship ensures surgeons have the data they need to refine techniques, improve outcomes, and ultimately deliver better care to patients nationwide.”

Launched in 2020, the ASR is a national quality improvement initiative that collects and analyzes real-world data from spine surgeries nationwide. The 2025 ASR Annual Report identified 342,000 cases reported to the Registry, enabling surgeons, hospitals and researchers to benchmark performance, track trends, and advance the quality of care for spine surgery patients. VB Spine’s sponsorship will support the ASR’s continued growth and innovation, including expansion of its degenerative lumbar and cervical spine modules. It will also enhance the Registry’s ability to deliver actionable insights through tools such as the AAOS RegistryInsights® data upload process and the ASR Annual Report.

“At VB Spine, everything begins with the surgeons and their patients,” said Marc Viscogliosi, co-CEO of VB Spine, reflecting the shared commitment of his brothers and fellow co-CEOs Anthony and John Viscogliosi. “The ASR is vital to helping surgeons make informed decisions and improve outcomes, and we are honored to support its mission to advance evidence-based spine care.”

VB Spine joins a growing list of stakeholders committed to the ASR’s vision of building a learning health system that empowers continuous improvement in spine surgery. For more information about the American Spine Registry, visit www.AmericanSpineRegistry.org.
