TOWERLOX MIS

December 6, 2013 By SPINEMarketGroup

Developed through close collaboration with leading MIS surgeons, the TowerLOX MIS Pedicle Screw System represents the next generation in minimally invasive spine surgery. TowerLOX provides simple and intuitive function in a cannulated pedicle screw system for minimally invasive surgeries. The smooth and reliable integration of the tower system, coupled with state of the art rod insertion and reduction instrumentation, allows for enhanced control and ease of rod delivery; even in the most challenging anatomical situations.

  • TowerLOX MIS VIDEO ANIMATION

Benefits:

TIME SAVING MODULAR OPEN TOWERS

  • Visual confirmation of the rod passage
  • Rod introduction down through the tower
  • Modular Tower accomodates internal and external rod reduction and compression/distraction
  • Proprietary locking mechanisms prevent inadvertent tower detachment (Patent Pending)

CONSISTENCY AND PREDICTABILITY WITH ATOWER GUIDE

  • Helps guide the PivoQuik inserter for ease of insertion and rod placement
  • Visual rod length reference provides surgeon a prompt for rod articulation

ROBUST EXTERNAL ROD REDUCTION

  • Triple lead thread allows for rapid and robust rod reduction
  • Accommodates set screw insertion after rod reduction
  • Up to 32mm of reduction

EFFICIENT INTERNAL ROD REDUCTION

  • Up to 32mm of reduction
  • Integration with set screw reduces extra step
  • Reliable option for rod reduction when challenged for space between towers
  • Reduction through the tower – no expansion of the wound

TOWERLOX PEDICLE SCREW

  • Self-tapping triple flute provides self-centering screw entry
  • Polyaxial angulations up to 63° dramatically reduces coronal rod bending
  • Increased screw neck diameter on larger diameter screws for increased strength
  • Large buttress thread enhances interconnection between set screw and tulip
  • Dual-lead thread design provides faster insertion
  • Set Screw with truncated lead thread for definitive start (go, no go)
  • Tulip head features provide for easy and rigid tower attachment
  • Cannulated pedicle screws for guide-wire insertion accepts a 1.4mm guide pin
  • Tulip head features provide for easy and rigid attachment to towers

About MIS

The trend in spine surgery for many procedures has been moving toward minimally invasive approaches. These include spine surgery for lumbar fusion, deformity surgery, cervical surgery and sacroiliac joint fusion. The benefits of minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) include decreased pain, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery. However, there is a difficult learning curve for surgeons when mastering MIS procedures. Increasing familiarity with MIS techniques creates more options for surgeons treating spine conditions with the potential to decrease surgical complications. The goal of this conference is to update neurological and orthopedic surgeons, as well as allied health professionals on the latest advances in MIS surgical techniques.
