Tiger® Occipital-Cervical-Thoracic Spinal Fixation System is intended to promote fusion of the cervical spine and the occipito-cervico-thoracic junction (occiput-T3). Thesystem is intended to be used in skeletally mature patients as an adjunct to fusion using autograft and allograft for the following conditions: degenerative disc disease (DDD): defined as neck pain of discogenic origin with degeneration of the disc confinmed by history and radiographic studies: spondylolisthesis; spinal stenosis; fracture/dislocation; atlanto/axial fracture with instability; occipitocervical dislocation; revision of previous cervical spine surgery; and tumor. The occipital bone screws are limited to occipital fixation only. Hook components are indicated for use from C I-C7. The use of polyaxial screws is limited to placement in the upper thoracic spine (TI -T3). They are not intended to be placed in the cervical spine.
The Tiger® Occipital-Cervical-Thoracic Spinal Fixation System can be connected to the Tiger® Spine System using the side by side and end to end rod to rod connectors.
Features:
- Broad range of occipital plate sizes with rotational and translational rod connection
- 3.5mm, 4.0mm, and 4.5mm screw diameters
- Biased angle cephalad/caudal, biased angle medial/lateral, and long shank screws
- Wide array of hook sizes
- Variety of transverse connectors designed to minimize potential interaction with spinal cord
- Connectability with thoraco-lumbar Tiger Spine System via rod-to-rod connectors or transitional rods
- Lateral offset connectors
- Multiple rod reduction options
- Cobalt Chrome and titanium rod offering in straight and pre-lordosed configurations
About Posterior Cervical Fusion
Posterior Cervical Fusion is a procedure intended for the stabilization of the cervical spine through a posterior approach. The procedure is commonly performed using hooks, plates, screws and rods as an adjunct to the fusion. Posterior cervical fusion is performed to treat instabilities which arise from: degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, fracture/dislocation, atlantoaxial fractures with insatiability, occipito-cervical dislocation, revisions of previous cervical spine surgery and tumors.(Source: Depuy Synthes).
