Tecomet

October 17, 2014 By SPINEMarketGroup

Established in 1963 as a development center for Thermo Electron’s advanced metal processing technology, Tecomet is now known as the leader in net shape forging, photochemical etching, precision machining, and metal joining of critical components and complex assemblies for the medical implant, aerospace/defense and specialty commercial/industrial markets.Tecomet was the first to develop powdered metal coating on a cardiovascular implant, manufacture a near net shape orthopedic forging, forge a zirconium femoral implant, and the first to fabricate a high transmission collimator for x-ray mammography. Tecomet should be your first choice when it comes to solving your most challenging problems.

Tecomet was a subsidiary of Viasys Healthcare from 2001 to 2007, and in 2008 became an independent private company focused on pursuing its own growth opportunities and success. Tecomet has always been an innovative, customer focused and quality driven organization with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and AS9100 certified Quality Systems that assure compliance with the highest standards for product quality and customer satisfaction. The company occupies two facilities, both with about 40,000 square feet of purpose built manufacturing space, and both conveniently located less than 30 minutes from Boston. The company headquarters are located in Wilmington, MA, as is the forging operation; while its Woburn, MA location serves as the home of Tecomet’s etching and precision technologies group with its multitude of machining and joining capabilities.

Tecomet is supported by all the resources and capacity needed to move your project from concept, through validation, and into high volume manufacturing. The combination of advanced metal processing and fabrication technology with world class manufacturing facilities and systems enables Tecomet to deliver solutions to your extreme challenges.
