STACC

July 18, 2016 By SPINEMarketGroup

STACC™ (Stand-Alone Cervical Cage) range is indicated for replacement of one or more cervical discs in treating degenerative disease of the cervical spine. STACC requires no additional fixation (i.e. cervical plating) as itincorporates integrated screw fixation.

It is accepted that the use of anterior cervical plating increases the chance of achieving a solid fusion. However, its use may be associated with an increase in surgical time and a higher postoperative morbidity, caused by a larger anterior approach and disruption of the anterior musculature. This dilemma has led to the development of a new, low profile stand-alone cervical anterior cage device with integrated screw fixation, the STACC cage.

The extremely rigid two-screw design also allows ease of access while fusing multiple levels. The central cavity can be packed with bone graft or substitute for optimal fusion. There are 2 versions of STACC, namely the STACC tapered (or wedged) design which has a 4° (2° either side) taper in order to maintain lordosis when fusing multiple levels. The other, design, the STACC Domed features an anatomically correct dome for superior seating for single level fusions.
