(UPDATED 2024): +15 Midline Cervical Plates to Know!

October 20, 2024 By SPINEMarketGroup

Cervical plates have become less commonly utilized since the advent of stand-alone cervical cages. Historically, a variety of designs emerged, each aiming to address specific clinical needs. This evolution gave rise to dynamic plates, semi-rigid options, and neutral plates, including the midline variant. While midline plates have never gained significant popularity, they continue to exist in the market. They have notable advantages, such as ease of screw placement, improved screw visualization, and reduced retraction requirements during insertion. Additionally, their smaller size makes them potentially suitable for smaller individuals and even children. However, their compact design and fewer screws render them more susceptible to fixation loss and decreased resistance to torsion and even fracture. In light of this, we have conducted a thorough review of available options across various manufacturers and present today a selection of 16 cervical plates for those interested in exploring these products. We have included available videos and brochures to facilitate your understanding of each system.
