MIS Monolock

May 14, 2015 By SPINEMarketGroup

MIS Monolock is a Minimally Invasive Screw system developed by Jayon Medical.

Features:

  1. Square Threaded Locking Cap geometry reduces risk of cross threading.
  2. Double-lead thread and an aggressive thread pitch promote rapid screw insertion and pull-out resistance, resulting in a more stable construct.
  3. 40° angulation. The high angulation of the Polyaxial screw head makes it easier to adapt the other system components to the patient’s individual anatomy.
  4. Strong screw-sleeve connection prevents sleeve disassociation during surgery
  5. 125mm Extended Tab allows for low profile, MIS percutaneous placement.
  6. 20mm of controlled reduction.
  7. Cannulation allows for injection of cement through the screw.
  8. Rod Reduction & Compression/Distraction Instrumentation facilitates placement.

About MIS

The trend in spine surgery for many procedures has been moving toward minimally invasive approaches. These include spine surgery for lumbar fusion, deformity surgery, cervical surgery and sacroiliac joint fusion. The benefits of minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) include decreased pain, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery. However, there is a difficult learning curve for surgeons when mastering MIS procedures. Increasing familiarity with MIS techniques creates more options for surgeons treating spine conditions with the potential to decrease surgical complications. The goal of this conference is to update neurological and orthopedic surgeons, as well as allied health professionals on the latest advances in MIS surgical techniques.
