Posterior cervical fusion is performed to treat instabilities which arise from: degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, fracture/dislocation, atlantoaxial fractures with insatiability, occipito-cervical dislocation, revisions of previous cervical spine surgery and tumors.(Source: Depuy Synthes)
