Medtronic

We estimate that Medtronic may have grown by 0,5% in this period according to the data provided by the company. Take into account the following issues:

  • Spine sales data are always our estimates because the published results go together with Cranial.
  • Medtronic data of the February-July period (Q4+Q1+Q2) is the one that corresponds to the January-June (Q1+Q2+Q3) of the rest of the companies.

Johnson&Johnson

In spine, we estimate a decrease of 2,1% based on the data included below:

*Spine sales data are always our estimates since the published results go together with Sports&Others.

Nuvasive

In these nine months of 2022, NuVasive reported total net sales of $896.4 million, a 7.1% increase compared to $836.9 million in the prior year period. Total net sales were driven by further adoption of new products, higher procedural volumes in the U.S., and strong international performance.

Stryker

Stryker’s results in spine are slightly lower than last year. His sales in these nine months of 2022 have been 849 million (-2%). This fall has occurred mainly in international sales with a decrease of -8.5%.

Globus Medical

Globus has reported sales of $748.6 million, which represents 5.7% compared to the first nine months of 2021. Spine’s business, with sales of 681.7 million, has grown by 4.9%, growing in the US and internationally. Enabling Technologies grew 19.1% to $66.6 million, driven by continued robotic system demand and new interest in our Excelsius3D™ imaging system.

ZimVie

Zimvie since his Zimmer spin-off, continues to decline in column sales. In these nine months of 2022, it has fallen by -17.6% with sales of $337.4 million.

ATEC

ATEC Spine has grown so far this year, 29.4% reaching accumulated sales in 2022 of $244.9 million. In this period, ATEC has launched its first expandable interbody and Sigma Medialized access technology.

Seaspine

Seaspine with sales of $174.1 million in the first nine months of 2022, has grown by 28.2%. This growth is due, among other factors, to the full commercial launch of WaveForm® TA (TLIF Articulating) 3D-Printed interbody system and Mariner® MIS Wayfinder system. On October 11, Seaspine announced its 2023 merger with Orthofix.

Orthofix

Orthofix sales at Global Spine in the first three quarters of the year were 259.6, representing a -1.3% drop. On October 11, they announced their equal merger with Seaspine.
