The FLXfit™ is an expandable, articulated interbody fusion device (IBFD) used in conjunction with supplemental fixation to provide structural stability in skeletally mature individuals following total or partial discectomy. The FLXfit™ is a unique titanium cage which articulates laterally as well as expands in height. This enables larger footprint support as well as restoration of disc height and lordotic angle correction. A bullet-nose design facilitates self-distraction and ease of insertion. The open architecture of the device allows it to be packed with autogenous bone graf.
Benefits:
- Up to 15° of expansion increases anterior height by 4mm
- Bullet-nosed to optimize insertion technique
- Open device architecture enables graft material packing to promote fusion
- Two Footprints:32mm x 9mm; 40mm x 9mm
- Anterior height prior to expansion: 8mm – 13mm
About Expandable Cages
Expandable interbody cages allow surgeons to go through a small corridor and change the geometry of the cage to correspond to what the patient’s spine requires. These implants may help protect a patient’s nerve roots and other structures in the area near the cage or along the corridor through which they are implanted. Sometimes can be implanted with a minimally invasive surgical procedure.
