Medtronic Korea Launches Kanghui, a New Value-Focused Spine Portfolio

January 21, 2026 By SPINEMarketGroup

Medtronic Korea, the Korean subsidiary of global healthcare technology company Medtronic, has introduced Kanghui, a new spine product portfolio aimed at expanding access to high-quality spinal care at a more accessible cost.

Kanghui has been developed to bring Medtronic’s technological expertise and rigorous quality management systems to spinal procedures across the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions. The portfolio is designed to offer Korean patients cost-effective spine solutions while maintaining the company’s global standards, with product options ranging from standard configurations to premium offerings.

The first system launched under the Kanghui brand is ECO MIS, an interbody fusion system designed for minimally invasive spine surgery. The system includes screws and rods in multiple shapes and lengths, along with fixation set screws, enabling surgeons to select the most appropriate size, configuration, and design for each patient.

ECO MIS is intended to provide a customized surgical solution that supports improved recovery and clinical outcomes. It is used to stabilize and fix the posterior thoracic, lumbar, or sacral spine in minimally invasive procedures for patients with unstable spinal fractures, spinal deformities such as scoliosis, degenerative spinal conditions, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and segmental instability. The system may help reduce recovery time and post-operative complications.

“The launch of Kanghui reflects our tailored portfolio strategy, responding to the increasing prevalence of spinal disorders in Korea and the rapid growth of specialized spine hospitals,” said Yoo Seung-rok, CEO of Medtronic Korea. “Medtronic will continue to optimize and expand its portfolio to strengthen its competitiveness in the Korean spine market, while working closely with local medical professionals to advance surgical techniques and improve treatment environments.”

The number of patients with spinal diseases in Korea increased by 9.1 percent over the past five years, rising from 8,912,158 in 2020 to 9,723,544 in 2024. During the same period, the number of patients undergoing spinal surgery grew by 16.7 percent.

Medtronic remains a market leader with a comprehensive spine portfolio covering conditions from the cervical to the lumbar spine. Its offerings include spinal fixation systems such as Solera, Infinity, and Zevo, minimally invasive fixation systems including Sextant II and Longitude II, interbody fusion devices such as Capstone and Clydesdale, and artificial discs like Prestige LP.

Combined with advanced technologies such as spinal surgery navigation, these solutions help enhance surgical precision and patient safety, the company said.
