EndoLIF® On-Cage

June 18, 2016 By SPINEMarketGroup

EndoLIF® On-Cage has been introduced to offer a minimally invasive as well as open (PLIF/ TLIF)  alternative for fusion in the lumbar spine as an optimal treatment option for surgeons.
The endoscopic access is based on the proven TESSYS® access system, however application is also possible without having used the TESSYS® method before. This access offers the possibility of tissue conservation and dilation of the soft tissue between the muscle fibers with the use of special dilators. The dilators are then replaced with the working tube which docks onto the vertebral body and into the surrounding muscle tissue through its unique design. Preparation of vertebral disc space and implantation of the EndoLIF® On-Cage is achieved with endoscopic assistance through the working tube, without the need to remove dorsal bony structures. Therefore, a fusion can be achieved without structural damage of key bony structures or the multifidus muscle, which are vital for spinal stability.1

The EndoLIF® On-Cage consists of titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) which is produced through the EBM (Electron Beam Melting) method. The open diamond cell structure increases the cage surface area as such providing an optimal base for bone ongrowth. Due to the special implant design, it is possible to verify easier bone fusion progress by X-ray or CT imaging. The On-Cage is available in 2 lengths (30 and 35 mm) and with 1 mm steps in the height from 8 to 14 mm. It is fillable with autogenous bone.

About TLIF

A transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) is performed to remove a portion of a disc that is the source of back or leg pain. Bone graft is used to fuse the spinal vertebrae after the disc is removed. TLIF provides fusion of the front and back of the lumbar spine. The front portion of the spine, called the anterior column, is stabilized by the interbody spacer and bone graft. The back portion, or posterior column, is locked in place with pedicle screws, rods and additional bone graft, alongside the backs of the vertebra.

About joimaxjoimax®

joimax® is one of the leading developer and provider of complete systems for minimally invasive endoscopic spinal surgery. With TESSYS® (transforaminal), iLESSYS® (interlaminar), CESSYS®(cervical) or with Multiuse RT (e.g. for rhizotomy) there are proven endoscopic systems that together cover a variety of indications. Whether herniated disc, stenosis or pain therapy – surgeons operate through a single small incision under local anaesthetic via tissue and muscle sparing through natural openings into the spinal canal (e.g. intervertebral foramen).  http://www.joimax.com
