LUMIS

May 14, 2015 By SPINEMarketGroup

Lumis, based on X-PLUS™ screw technologies and patents, SpineVision®has developed a new system specifically designed for lumbar degenerative spine diseases through a Minimally Invasive approach.Compatible with the Flex+™ system, LUMIS™ offers a comprehensive range of surgical options from rigid to dynamic constructs. LUMIS™ improves patient outcome by reducing the need for a large incision and muscle retraction required for screw placement, particularly useful when fusion is not required and for 1-Level dynamic stabilization construct.

Benefits:

  • Strong and Secured Connection:Screw extenders can sustain a 300N traction force without being disconnected from the screws. The locking systems enable a confident usage for the surgeon, even in multisegmental constructs
  • Complete and Powerful Instrumentation:Simple and effective rod persuasion kit (from 16 to 33 mm of offset) with simultaneous secured nut insertion to adapt to all patients anatomies, facilitate surgery and prevent any cross-threading.
  • Easy Connect/Disconnect option:Possibility at any step of the surgery to disconnect the screw extenders for an optitmized access.

About MIS

The trend in spine surgery for many procedures has been moving toward minimally invasive approaches. These include spine surgery for lumbar fusion, deformity surgery, cervical surgery and sacroiliac joint fusion. The benefits of minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) include decreased pain, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery. However, there is a difficult learning curve for surgeons when mastering MIS procedures. Increasing familiarity with MIS techniques creates more options for surgeons treating spine conditions with the potential to decrease surgical complications. The goal of this conference is to update neurological and orthopedic surgeons, as well as allied health professionals on the latest advances in MIS surgical techniques.
