+3 Spanish Spine Companies to Know…!

December 10, 2023 By SPINEMarketGroup

The Spanish spinal implant market was valued in 2022 at €100 million with a growth rate of 3% annually. Economic factors, healthcare budget constraints, and reimbursement policies influence this market dynamics. These factors may pose challenges or opportunities for companies operating in the spine sector. The spinal fusion market in Spain can expand or contract due to population demographics, disease incidence and prevalence, macroeconomic issues, and geopolitical considerations.

In 2022, GlobalData’s Market Model methodology determined that the leading player in the spinal fusion market in Spain was DePuy Synthes followed by Globus Medical (distributed by PRIM SA), Medtronic, NuVasive, Stryker, and Zimvie.

Additionally, we can also find at least other competitors as at least: Spineart, Orthofix (distributed by MBA incorporado), Seaspine (distributed by Acuña y Fombona), Braun Aesculap, Medacta, Biedermann Motech (distributed by Medcomtech), Spinevision, Normmed, Tsunami Medical, LfC, Ulrich, Bricon, and Accelus.

In Spain, there are very few local manufacturers. The Spanish companies in the implant industry are distributors such as PRIM, MBA, Acuña y Fombona, or Medcomtech. However, in recent times, three new companies have appeared which are the following:

  • Cyber Surgery: Robotics
  • DIGITAL ANATOMICS: Personalized surgical guides
  • PQx Planificación Quirúrgica: Navigation and implants.
