MISquito MIS technique is used in conjunction with the PedFuse REspond Pedicle Screw System is a new method for percutaneously delivering a pedicle screw & rod construct for thoraco-lumbar spinal fixation.Unlike other approaches, The MISquito System features enhanced methods and instruments for easier rod insertion. MISquito’s innovative rod guidance system allows surgeons to control and guide both ends of the rod as it is inserted into its optimal position.
MISquito is used in conjunction with the PedFuse REspond screw for percutaneous insertion. The PedFuse Pedicle Screw System is intended to provide immobilization and stabilization of spinal segments in skeletally mature patients as an adjunct to fusion in the treatment of the following acute instabilities or deformities of the thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spine: degenerative spondylolisthesis with objective evidence of neurological impairment, fracture, dislocation, scoliosis, kyphosis, spinal tumor, and failed previous fusion (Pseudoarthrosis).
Features:
- Instrumentation is compatible with PedFuse REspond System
- Screw and portal constructs allow smaller incisions for patients
- Bulleted rod for accurate and smooth insertion
- Innovative method which utilizes proprietary technology to guide rods into desired location
- Rod control is maintained per current technique standard
About MIS
The trend in spine surgery for many procedures has been moving toward minimally invasive approaches. These include spine surgery for lumbar fusion, deformity surgery, cervical surgery and sacroiliac joint fusion. The benefits of minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) include decreased pain, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery. However, there is a difficult learning curve for surgeons when mastering MIS procedures. Increasing familiarity with MIS techniques creates more options for surgeons treating spine conditions with the potential to decrease surgical complications. The goal of this conference is to update neurological and orthopedic surgeons, as well as allied health professionals on the latest advances in MIS surgical techniques.
