STALIF M-Ti

February 5, 2021 By SPINEMarketGroup

Sixth generation STALIF® technology, STALIF M-Ti incorporates a novel, circumferential, titanium-coated, PEEK Integrated Interbody™ design that is raising the Gold Standard of lumbar interbody fusion.

Benefits:

Optimized Surface Technology:

The Ti-ACTIVE™ coating provides a three-dimensional texturized surface that is microporous with hydrophilic properties, to facilitate human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC) attachment and proliferation as demonstrated by pre-clinical testing performed on representative PEEK coupons with Ti-ACTIVE coating.2

During manufacturing, commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) is applied to the PEEK cage by a plasma spray to create our Ti-ACTIVE devices. The unique CP Ti coating system utilizes a robotic applicator, enabling the creation of a high-quality, reproducible titanium coating.3 Ti-ACTIVE was tested for mechanical integrity and the results exceeded the FDA requirements for shear and tensile strength for metallic spray coatings.4

Integrally PEEK:

The STALIF M-Ti device maintains the radiolucent advantage of PEEK, making it easier to assess post-operative development of fusion mass during follow-up.7 The Ti-ACTIVE™ coating allows for radiographic visualization of the graft-endplate contact. Images show radiographs of STALIF M-Ti in Anterior/Posterior view (left) and Lateral view (right).

No-Profile®; No Supplemental Fixation

STALIF M-Ti’s integrated cage and screw system is cleared for use without supplemental fixation, while the No-Profile® design allows it to nest fully within the confines of the vertebral body—leaving the anatomy unchanged external to the interbody.

About ALIF Cages

Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is a spine surgery that involves approaching the spine from the front of the body to remove disc or bone material from in between two adjacent lumbar vertebrae. The disc material is then replaced by cage containing bone graft or bone morphogenetic protein. The ALIF cage maintains normal disc height  as the bone graft fuses with the bone of the vertebrae above and below to stabilize the spine.

About Centinel Spine

Centinel Spine®, LLC is the largest privately-held spine company focused on anterior column reconstruction. The company offers a continuum of trusted, brand-name motion-preserving and fusion solutions backed by over 30 years of clinical success—providing the most robust and clinically-proven Total Disc Replacement and Integrated Interbody™ portfolios in the world.
The company began operations in 2008 through the merger-acquisition of two pioneering medical device companies—Raymedica, LLC and Surgicraft, LTD. UK-based Surgicraft launched the first Stand-Alone/No Profile® anterior lumbar interbody fusion device in the world in 1988, which was the basis for future generations of the market-leading Integrated Interbody™ technology platform known today as STALIF®.
The company recently acquired the prodisc® Total Disc Replacement Technology Platform—the most extensive cervical and lumbar motion-preserving reconstruction portfolio available today. With the addition of prodisc, Centinel Spine stands apart as the only company with comprehensive motion-preserving and fusion solutions for both cervical and lumbar anterior column reconstruction . http://www.centinelspine.com
