The Medacta® Unconstrained Screw Technology [M.U.S.T.] Pedicle Screw System has been designed to give the surgeon flexibility in terms of choice of bone anchor position, coupled with instrument handling capabilities that assist in spinal reduction, stabilisation and ultimately fixation.
The M.U.S.T. pedicle screw features a range of motion of greater than 60°, which coupled with its
tapered tulip form and low profile head allows for anatomical screw placement.
With the M.U.S.T. Pedicle Screw System, the surgeon has the option to achieve polyaxial tulip locking independently from the final locking with set screw, allowing for parallel compression and distraction.
This innovative new instrument design therefore allows for internal spinal correction and ultimately fixation. The M.U.S.T. Pedicle Screw System is available in sterile and non-sterile packaging.
M.U.S.T. Pedicle Screw System
Indications:
The M.U.S.T. Pedicle screws system is intended for posterior non-cervical pedicle fixation (T1-S2/ilium) or anterolateral fixation (T8-L5). These devices are indicated as an adjunct to fusion for all of the following indications: degenerative disc disease (defined as back pain of discogenic origin with degeneration of the disc confirmed by history and radiographic studies); spondylolisthesis; trauma (i.e., fracture or dislocation); spinal stenosis; curvatures (i.e., scoliosis, kyphosis, and/or lordosis); tumor; pseudoarthrosis; and failed previous fusion in skeletally mature patients.
