EOI Announces Continued Expansion of the FLXfit™ 3D Expandable Cage in the Low Country with Dr. Roybal of Memorial University in Savannah

September 9, 2015 By SPINEMarketGroup

OR AKIVA, Israel, September 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ –Expanding Orthopedics Inc. (EOI), a privately held medical device company focused on developing and commercializing innovative expandable devices for spine surgery, is proud to announce that Dr. Raphael Roybal of Memorial University Medical Center,Savannah, Ga., is the first surgeon in the Low Country to use the FLXfit™, world’s only 3D articulated cage with in-situ lordosis restoration.

Memorial University Medical Center has received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for spinal fusion and has received distinction for its spinal program from Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare and Aetna. Dr. Roybal has always been at the forefront of adopting innovative spine solutions to optimally treat his patients and is again the first to adopt the FLXfit’s unique technology in the Low Country.

Dr. Roybal selected to adopt the FLxfit as “this product is simple and easy to use, yet very robust and designed to overcome some of the current challenges in fusion surgeries using interbody devices”. Dr. Roybal adds “the major advantage of the FLXfit over existing solutions is its ability to combine a big footprint, optimal anterior position and significant bone graft volume while preserving the patient’s anatomy through a posterior, MIS, TLIF approach”.

Ofer Bokobza, CEO of Expanding Orthopedics, says that “We are extremely excited by the fast acceptance of the FLXfit™ in the market and by Dr. Roybal’s decision to adopt it for his patients”. He explains that “Memorial University Medical Center is part of Novant Health Inc., a very important hospital network which will allow EOI to continue its expansion in North Carolinas and the Low Country market”. Ofer concludes that “We see a great momentum in the US market with more surgeons adopting the FLXfit™ as their preferred cage.”
