Xia Titanium Spinal System

October 12, 2013 By SPINEMarketGroup

The Xia name is synonymous with Stryker spine surgery products, and is a flagship line with ever-new extensions and products for the latest applications. The aim to develop better implants is represented by the patented buttress thread closure mechanism. What started as a top-loading pedicle screw system for treatment of degenerative spine pathologies has grown to include deformity solutions and a
recently introduced trauma/tumor line extension. The Xia Spinal System is comprised of implants and instruments for stabilization of the spine during fusion in the thoracic, lumbar and sacral regions, with many features including:

  • Reduced profile and implant volume
  • Patented buttress thread closure mechanism
  • Ergonomically designed instruments
  • Available in stainless steel and titanium alloy

Minimally invasive systems have been designed to reduce tissue trauma through smaller incisions. The Xia cannulated polyaxial screw has been developed to facilitate screw implantation due to the reduced visualization within the narrower working channels. Xia facilitates surgeons implanting the Xia Polyaxial titanium screws through a less invasive posterior approach by following the path of the guide wire. This is accomplished with streamlined instrumentation to maximize visualization while minimizing the complexity of the Xia Titanium system.

Key advantages include:

  • Cannulated screw follows the path of the guide wire to enhance proper screw placement.
  • Equivalent strength to non-cannulated screw under static corpectomy conditions*
  • Patented closure mechanism lessens potential for cross threading when working through minimally invasive approach
  • Depth markings on guide wire provide real time feedback to minimize surgical and fluoroscopy time
  • Instruments designed for working through minimal incision
