ROCCIA MultiLIF

June 18, 2016 By SPINEMarketGroup

The ROCCIA MultiLIF was developed for primary stabilisation and restoration of the physiological lordosis in the lumbar spine. Treatment is carried out using TLIF (transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion). The special feature of ROCCIA MultiLIF is the possibility of using this cage for two different implantation techniques. Transforaminal access is one approach, but an anterior approach to the vertebral column is also possible, either strictly ventral (ventromedial) or ventrolateral (“anterior to the psoas”).

Like all Silony medical devices, the ROCCIA instrument set is modular and has been ergonomically optimised. With interbody fusion using ROCCIA MultiLIF, we recommend additional posterior spondylodesis with instrumentation such as our VERTICALE® posterior spinal fixation system.

Features:

  • Preparing the fusion: There is plenty of room in the generously proportioned ROCCIA chamber system for autologous or homologous bone and/or bone substitute material for subsequent fusion.
  • Save time: The ROCCIA insertion device is a multifunction instrument. You can not only insert the trial implants with it – you can use the same instrument as an implant inserter and impactor. This saves valuable instrumentation and processing  time.
  • For firm anchorage:The pyramidal surface of the titanium implant ensures firm anchorage of the cage to the inferior and superior endplates and significantly reduces the possibility of cage migration.
  • Rely on the stability:A broad supporting surface ensures good primary stability and prevents subsequent sinking or collapse.
  • Several options:Five differently arranged threaded holes allow numerous options for insertion.
  • Crack the code:Working ergonomically with the ROCCIA starts with easy allocation of the colour-coded cage sizes and trial implants. It continues with the variously shaped and angled instruments for surgical exposure under widely varying anatomical conditions.

About TLIF

A transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) is performed to remove a portion of a disc that is the source of back or leg pain. Bone graft is used to fuse the spinal vertebrae after the disc is removed. TLIF provides fusion of the front and back of the lumbar spine. The front portion of the spine, called the anterior column, is stabilized by the interbody spacer and bone graft. The back portion, or posterior column, is locked in place with pedicle screws, rods and additional bone graft, alongside the backs of the vertebra.
