3 Lock Dual-Lead Posterior Stabilization System

April 14, 2018 By SPINEMarketGroup

3Lock dual-lead is the result of the evolution of the Sintea Plustek 3Lock system: it was designed with the aim to provide surgeons with a complete device that would allow them to treat the different pathologies that affect the rachis, both degenerative, traumatic or tumoral, and for the treatment of deformities.

Features:

  • The screws are characterized by a dual-lead thread that allows easy insertion and better grip inside the pedicle. The special conical shape of their tip ensures an accurate positioning, thus granting insertion along the desired trajectory.
  • The screws, in monoaxial and multiaxial version, are available in 5 different diameters (4.5, 5, 6, 7 and 8mm), to better adapt to the patient’s anatomy according to the levels to stabilize. Multiaxial reduction screws are also available (Ø 5, 6 and 7mm). The system is completed by a set of hooks available in different sizes and types.
  • The three-way connection between implants and instruments make 3Lock dual-lead effective and flexible, thus offering the surgeon a very easy-implant device.
In order to ensure optimal biomechanical performances and to facilitate X-ray monitoring of the implant, the components of 3Lock dual-lead are made of biocompatible titanium.
  • All elements of the system are compliant with Directive 93/42/EEC.

About Spinal Deformity

Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine that can occur in any age group. Scoliosis is a coronal plane (i.e. side to side) deformity occurring in children, adolescents, and adults. Symptoms vary with age of onset and severity of the curvature; cosmetic problems including sitting imbalance, breathing difficulty or delayed development is common findings in infants and young children. A rib hump, pelvic or shoulder height imbalance tend to common in the adolescent group. Intractable back pain, sciatica, leg weakness or numbness and gait difficulty are common reasons for surgical correction in adults.

Kyphosis is seen when a person’s spinal balance has moved too far forward to allow the spine to effectively carry the body weight without progressive deformity, pain or neurologic loss of function. Patients typically walk in a forward flexed posture being unable to stand up straight. This condition can also occur along with scoliosis causing Kyphoscoliosis.
