Richfield, Ohio – February 19, 2014 , Intrepid Orthopedics, a Northeast Ohio based medical device outsourcing firm, has recently expanded their capabilities to become full service for its increasing client base. To accommodate its expanded services and growing business, Intrepid Orthopedics moved into a larger facility in Richfield, which is located less than 30 minutes from both Akron and
Cleveland, Ohio. “We now have a great space for our team as well as our testing, prototyping and inspection equipment” said Strnad. “We can really harmonize the entire concept to commercialization process by having everything under one roof.”
Intrepid Orthopedics has been growing faster than the market since opening in 2007 by helping both surgeons and companies develop and launch medical devices. Intrepid’s client portfolio includes individual doctors and sales representatives with innovative ideas to major orthopedic players who have hired Intrepid to launch a portfolio of products. Over the past seven years, Intrepid Orthopedics has successfully provided product development, quality system documentation and FDA regulatory approval submissions for over 30 companies.
Lee Strnad, Intrepid’s President, was a Deformity Team Partner at AcroMed in Cleveland which was later acquired by DePuy, a Johnson and Johnson Company. Lee was also instrumental in starting EBI’s spine division which was later acquired by Biomet. He also led the engineering development of the AxioMed Freedom Lumbar Disc, as well as the development of OrthoHelix’s internal fixation systems which was recently acquired by Tornier.
Chuck Birchall, Jr, who worked with Lee at both AcroMed and AxioMed Spine, said, “Lee Strnad is one of the best engineers that I have worked with over the past 25 years. He can take a rough idea and create a great product in a short period of time while considering other factors like cost and manufacturing constraints.”
Intrepid Orthopedics will be exhibiting at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons 2014 Annual Meeting in New Orleans at booth #6914.
