VIPER 3D MIS Correction Set is the world’s first minimally invasive deformity system that allows the surgeon to treat the entire thoracolumbar spine minimally invasively. This system is used in conjunction with the VIPER® System to bring the benefits of minimally invasive surgery to more patients by providing innovative instrumentation designed specifically to treat complex pathologies.Fully compatible with the EXPEDIUM® Spine System implants and instruments, the VIPER 3D Set enhances surgeons’ abilities to treat complex pathologies through a variety of techniques and approaches. The VIPER 3D Set is designed to allow complex surgery to be done percutaneously. The VIPER 3D Set features specialized instruments for easy multilevel rod insertion with 360° rod rotation, powerful rod approximation, segmental or en bloc derotation, spondylolisthesis reduction, controlled multilevel compression and distraction, and the ability to perform posterolateral fusion minimally invasively.
Features:
- Works with standard VIPER System towers for ease of use
- Allows for additional deformity procedures to be accomplished using existing percutaneous VIPER Screw System
Powerful correction instruments
- Allows for controlled rod approximation, spondylolisthesis reduction, compression and distraction
- Provides ability to perform most traditional correction manoeuvres while getting the benefits of a minimally invasive approach
- Facilitates many kinds of reconstruction and correction
About MIS
The trend in spine surgery for many procedures has been moving toward minimally invasive approaches. These include spine surgery for lumbar fusion, deformity surgery, cervical surgery and sacroiliac joint fusion. The benefits of minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) include decreased pain, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery. However, there is a difficult learning curve for surgeons when mastering MIS procedures. Increasing familiarity with MIS techniques creates more options for surgeons treating spine conditions with the potential to decrease surgical complications. The goal of this conference is to update neurological and orthopedic surgeons, as well as allied health professionals on the latest advances in MIS surgical techniques.
