The Varian Expandable Cage is implanted in the interdiscal space. It is expanded by a simple insertion device that requires a simple 90-degree turn in a clockwise rotation. Once the Varian Expandable Cage is expanded it offers 8 or 10 degrees of lordosis that can maintain the natural lordotic angle of the spine.
Benefits:
• Easy expansion
• Offers 8 or 10 degrees of lordosis
• Offers bone packing in situ through a funnelled insertion device
About Expandable Cages
Expandable interbody cages allow surgeons to go through a small corridor and change the geometry of the cage to correspond to what the patient’s spine requires. These implants may help protect a patient’s nerve roots and other structures in the area near the cage or along the corridor through which they are implanted. Sometimes can be implanted with a minimally invasive surgical procedure.
