Cousin Frères, the parent company of Cousin Biotech, was created in 1848 by Louis Cousin in Wervicq-Sud, France. Over the years, the company had to adapt and grow within its environment. It has acquired extensive technical know-how in the areas of technical textiles, and of pliable products in general. Cousin Biotech works solely in the medical field, and more specifically in surgery. It has inherited the full wealth of this accumulated experience and skill. Thanks to a leading scientific team and highly qualified staff, Cousin Biotech is able to develop and manufacture its implants on site, creating products which have been specially designed to meet the demands of the medical and surgical world. Cousin Biotech designs and manufactures implants for the following fields: visceral, bariatric, urological, gynaecological and spinal surgery.
In 2009, Cousin Biotech decided to start up a spinal division within its organisation, and thanks to its strategic decisions, it now operates with a specific range of products for the spinal market. IntraSPINE® is one of them for the non-fusion market: a dynamic interlaminar device made of a silicone core covered with polyester, its innovative shape allows to preserve a full range of motion while respecting the physiological lordosis.
