Spinal Simplicity, LLC Announces that Blue Valley Hospital has Performed the First US Surgery with the Minuteman(R) G3, Lateral Percutaneous Interlaminar Fusion Device

April 22, 2015 By SPINEMarketGroup

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 21, 2015 (PRWEB) – Spinal Simplicity, LLC, a spinal device company dedicated to the creation of innovative simple solutions to
treat complex spinal disorders, announced today that Dr. Harold Hess performed the first US surgical implantation of the Minuteman G3, currently the only lateral percutaneous interlaminar fusion device available in the US.

The Minuteman G3 is indicated for the treatment of degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, tumors and/or trauma where symptoms are usually low back and leg pain. The lateral percutaneous approach used to implant the device eliminates the dissection of sensitive back muscles often associated with lumbar fusions while maintaining an adequate distance from the neural structures. The minimally disruptive Minuteman G3 system was designed to reduce operative time and allow for a quicker patient recovery–helping to improve the overall outcome of lumbar fusion procedures.

As stated by Dr. Hess “My goal has always been to develop technology that would improve the outcomes of patients through a minimally invasive, yet simple technique. With this in mind, I co-founded Spinal Simplicity to create the Minuteman G3 as an innovative, simple solution to treat complex spinal conditions. The Minuteman G3 can be implanted in 10-15 minutes through a lateral 1-inch incision, in what is considered a safer-zone. Up until now, this technology did not exist for surgeons and patients. I envision the Minuteman G3 will provide the foundation for further innovation in the minimally invasive spine market.”

The Minuteman G3 system is available for commercial launch nationwide.
