Rhausler Anterior Cervical Vertebrae Plate System

February 20, 2021 By SPINEMarketGroup

The Rhausler Anterior Cervical Vertebrae Plate System is intended for use in single and multi-level anterior cervical intravertebral internal stabilization and arthrodesis surgeries from C3 through C7.

Surgical indications and techniques of augmentation of bony stabilization with anterior
plate and screw in the cervical spine have been the subject of multiple clinical publications

The Cervical Plate System offers three cervical plate options:

  • Dynamic
  • Semiconstrained
  • QuickPlate™

All three low-profile medical grade titanium alloy cervical plates are available in one-, two-, and three-level designs in a range of sizes. The Dynamic and Semiconstrained plates also come as four-level plates. All three use the same bone screws, providing ultimate operative flexibility allowing the surgeon to modify the type of cervical plate used depending on intraoperative pathology and bone quality.

With Rhausler’s Cervical Plating Set you have the options of using the Dynamic, Semiconstrained or QuickPlate Cervical Plates, and Bone Screws with all the same associated insertion instruments, while utilizing the same proven bone screw locking mechanism for each plate design. By changing one attachable Drill Guide, all three plates can be implanted with the same Rhausler instrumentation.

The Bone Screw is retained inside the plate’s screw holes with one simple 1/16 turn of
the CAM-Lock mechanism. The CAM-Lock keeps the shoulders of the screw retained, but free to translate and rotate, in the recess in the undercut shoulders of the screw hole in the plate. This allows the bone screw to have both linear dynamic and axial rotational movement in the Dynamic Plate, and axial rotational movement in the Semiconstrained and QuickPlate. These dynamic motions allow the intra-discal bone graft to be mechanically loaded, according to Wolff’s Law.

CERVICAL PLATE OPTIONS

The QuickPlate

  • Slimmest in design and 16mm wide on the top and bottom.
  • Screw holes have the same axial rotation function as the Semiconstrained Plate,
which also allows the intra-discal bone graft to be mechanically loaded.
  • Large graft viewing slots for the observation of the cage or graft implant during and
after placement of the plate and screws.
  • Stackable convex and concave ends for reoperations or multilevel plating.

Semiconstrained Plate

  • 16mm wide at the top and 19mm at the bottom with stackable convex and concave
ends for reoperations or multilevel plating.
  • Semidynamic in design, to allow settling of each level up to 1.5mm, and the axial
rotation of the bone screws restricts strain on the plate and screws while allowing the
intra-discal bone graft to be mechanically loaded.
  • Bone graft screw holes, allowing the surgeon to attach the cage or graft to the plate in
    single level fusions or corpectomies.

Dynamic Plate

  • 16mm wide at the top and 19mm at the bottom, with stackable convex and concave
ends for re-operations or multilevel plating.
  • Fully dynamic in design, allowing complete load sharing to the intra-discal graft.
  • Each level can settle up to 3.0mm, providing a desirable healing arthrodesis
    environment.
  • Bone graft screw holes, allowing the surgeon to attach the cage or graft to the plate in single level fusions or corpectomies.

QuickPlate, Semiconstrained or Dynamic Cervical Plates are available in these sizes:

  • One-Level Plates: lengths 21 to 35mm
  • Two-Level Plates: lengths 37 to 55mm
  • Three-Level Plates: lengths 54 to 78mm
  • Four-Level Plates: lengths 69 to 109mm. Dynamic and Semiconstrained only /
    Available upon request

About Rhausler

Rhausler was founded in 2008 by Dr. Fred Geisler an expert in spinal implantation and instrumentation and developed innovative, patented implants for a variety of cervical spinal disorders.

Innovative company products include, the Rhausler™ Anterior Cervical Vertebrae Plating
System and the PLAGE™ Anterior Cervical Fusion System,.

Globally, the Anterior Cervical Plates and locking bone screws have been used in over 4,300 patient cases to-date. The PLAGE (introduced in 2012) uses the same proven bone screw and locking mechanism used in our cervical plating system since the introduction of Rhausler’s Anterior Cervical Plating System in 2008.

The company holds multiple patents and has FDA-clearance and CE Mark for all products. The CE Mark for European commercialization and ISO 13485:2003 certifications were obtained in March 2011. Rhausler products have garnered unprecedented interest and market demand since their introductions and are manufactured in the U.S. and distributed worldwide. Rhausler, Inc. is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. For more information please email us at [email protected].
