For stand-alone Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (ALIF) with four screws the PILLAR® SA PTC Spacer System provides multiple sizes and lordotic angles with an ovoid shape implant to match patient anatomy. The 3D printed porous titanium endplates are designed to allow the patient bone to grow into the porous plate.

Benefits:
- PEEK core to obtain imaging properties while assessing fusion
- Large opening for packing bone grafting material
- Medially oriented screw holes for easier insertion and sound Bone Screw fixation
- Ovoid shape designed to mimic vertebral anatomic shape for optimal coverage on apophyseal ring
- Four bone screw design enhances implant stability
- Medially oriented bone screws designed to resist pull-out
- Multiple sizes match variable patient anatomies
- Cover plate designed to prevent screw back-out and has a nearly zero profile
- Multiple choices of flexible instrumentation to access difficult to reach anatomies
About ALIF Cages
Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is a spine surgery that involves approaching the spine from the front of the body to remove disc or bone material from in between two adjacent lumbar vertebrae. The disc material is then replaced by cage containing bone graft or bone morphogenetic protein. The ALIF cage maintains normal disc height as the bone graft fuses with the bone of the vertebrae above and below to stabilize the spine.
About Orthofix
Orthofix International began in Verona, Italy, eventually becoming a group of companies specialized in the design and manufacture of orthopedic and spine medical devices.Orthofix International stemmed from the work of orthopedic researcher Giovanni de Bastiani of the University of Verona in Italy. Toward the end of the 1970s, Bastiani proposed the concept of “dynamization,” based on the natural ability of bone to repair itself. http://www.orthofix.com
