Nexxt Spine Announces Full Market Release of Struxxure® Anterior Cervical Plating System

May 1, 2015 By SPINEMarketGroup

NOBLESVILLE, Ind.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nexxt Spine, LLC, a medical device company focused on designing, manufacturing and distributing innovative spinal solutions to meet the evolving needs of surgeons and health care institutions, today announced the full market release of the Struxxure® Anterior Cervical Plate System.

Rafath Baig, M.D., Board Certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeon and Medical Director of the Desert Spine and Scoliosis Center in Phoenix, AZ, stated, “The design of the Struxxure ACP allows me to hyper-angulate the trajectory of the bone screws and utilize the shortest possible plate. This is a common limitation within competitive systems. Also, an innovative alignment feature enables Struxxure plates to be consistently positioned in a manner to avoid the adjacent levels and aid in accurate plate alignment.”The design rationale of the Struxxure ACP system is based on published papers highlighting studies reporting the incidence of adjacent level ossification (ALO) significantly decreases when the plate-to-disc distance is greater than 5 millimeters from the adjacent level1,2. The Struxxure system was designed to help address the potential for ALO by offering the widest cephalad/caudal screw angulation within an ultra-low profile anterior cervical plate. By increasing the cephalad/caudal screw angulation, a shorter plate may be used which in turn increases the distance to the adjacent disc level wherein studies report a reduction in the risk of developing postoperative degenerative changes, including ALO.

“Since our inception, we’ve been dedicated to increasing procedural efficiency and patient outcomes through development of innovative products to treat painful and debilitating spinal pathologies,” stated Dr. Robert L. Wertz, Director of New Product Development. “All implants and instruments associated with the Struxxure system have been developed and manufactured in our world-class Noblesville, IN facility.”

Struxxure ACP will be featured at the 83rd Annual American Academy of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Scientific Meeting, May 2 – 6, 2015, in Washington, DC. To arrange an introductory meeting with a member of our executive leadership team please contact [email protected].
