John founded the quality and regulatory division during the early years when KICVentures had only one portfolio company. He left the group to pursue other opportunities but was strongly recruited by the executive team to help navigate the company through key audits, certifications in trading partner countries, and to build a strong compliance program for surgeon engagement.
John has a 25-year medical device track record in quality and regulatory affairs plus operational leadership and project management expertise. “We are happy to have John rejoin our company at this critical point when we are poised to go to market with the AxioMed Freedom lumbar viscoelastic total disc replacement and prepared to start the cervical and lateral disc clinical trials. John has the uncommon ability to create a collaborative bridge between engineering, quality, regulatory and clinical and then oversee development so products get out faster to the customers without compromising quality,” said chief executive officer Dr. Kingsley R Chin.
In his role John will be responsible for regulatory compliance and market clearance strategies for all KICVentures portfolio companies, in addition to leading corporate governance. This includes completing investigational device studies and gaining market approval for multiple Class III devices within KIC’s portfolio. “I am excited for the opportunity to return to such an innovative team and eager to lead the charge in gaining worldwide market approval for the AxioMed Freedom total disc replacement family”, said John Sullivan on joining the team.
