KICVentures Appoints Ken Yamada as President & CEO of AxioMed

March 19, 2020 By SPINEMarketGroup

BOSTON (PRWEB) MARCH 18, 2020–AxioMed, LLC is dedicated to advance the standard of care for patients with degenerative spine conditions by progressing spine technology beyond fusion and first generation artificial discs and has announced Ken Yamada as its President and Chief Executive Officer succeeding Kingsley Chin, MD., who is stepping down to focus on further expanding KICVentures and its healthcare portfolio.

“Mr. Yamada is a seasoned executive with 25 years of medical device industry experience and a strong track record of success specifically in orthopedic and neurosurgery global markets. Mr. Yamada played a critical role in laying the commercial foundation of LDR’s Mobi-C cervical disc that was acquired by ZimmerBiomet for $1.1 Billion. He also brings executive experience that helped expand the Asian footprint for Arthrex, an orthopedic company generating over $2 billion in revenues. Ken has successfully raised millions in investment capital as the Chief Business Development Officer of KICVentures and is well-positioned to now lead AxioMed and bring this disc to the global market”, says Kingsley Chin, MD

“It’s an exciting time to assume the leadership of AxioMed as we plan to launch the disc to international markets next year, along with our viscoelastic lumbar disc in the US, and begin a multilevel cervical clinical trial. AxioMed has optimized a proprietary polymer that mimics the human disc and will change the lives of those suffering with spine pain. My vision is to have every patient in the world with back or neck pain get access to this revolutionary technology and regain their mobility to lead a normal active lifestyle. As the custodian of this solution, it is our moral imperative to get this into the hands of surgeons to treat their patients” commented Mr. Yamada.

AxioMed has received it’s CE mark for its Freedom® Artificial Cervical Disc, and has developed distribution partners in key international markets with high anticipation for its initial launch.
