Congratulations to Dr. Rakesh Patel and Globus Medical on this successful Mt. Everest summit!
After about 10 weeks of climbing, Patel and a group of 22 others hit the summit of Mount Everest at 29,000 feet last week.
“It was always like a fantasy,” said Patel, spine service chief and clinical assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Michigan. “I never thought it would be reality. You know when you think about something for so long and the moment actually arrives, I was on the verge of tears when I got to the south summit. I’ve only seen pictures and read about it. It was just so surreal being there.”
Dr. Patel, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Spine Division, at the University of Michigan.

I’d be curious to know if Globus paid for this expedition?
