KNOXVILLE, TN, Feb 25, 2015 – ChoiceSpine, a Knoxville, TN based spinal implant company, is pleased to announce the hiring of two new executives. Mr. Tom McLeer, Senior Executive Vice-President, will serve as an advisor to founders Rick Henson and Marty Altshuler, assisting with strategic planning and business development. Dr. Steve Ainsworth, PhD has been hired as Vice President of R&D.
Mr. McLeer was most recently Senior Vice President of U.S. Commercial Operations forAlphatec, with responsibility for U.S. Sales and Marketing, Research and Development, and Biologics. Prior to working at Alphatec, Mr. McLeer was Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager of Spinal Operations for Pioneer Surgical.
Dr. Ainsworth was the third employee for TranS1 where he served as Vice President of R&Dthroughout the Baxano acquisition. Earlier this month, ChoiceSpine announced the purchase ofBaxano’s VEO Lateral Access and Interbody System and the company is receiving very positive feedback on this product from its surgeon customers.
ChoiceSpine realized double digit growth in 2014 with the introduction of two new fusion systems and three line extensions. They anticipate growth of 25% in 2015 due to the launch of four new systems to be introduced over the next few months.
