Atlas Spine Announces Launch of its HiJAK SA Expandable Cervical Stand-Alone Interbody System

August 19, 2020 By SPINEMarketGroup

JUPITER, FL, August 19, 2020 — Atlas Spine, Inc., a spinal implant company based in Jupiter Florida, announced today the launchof its HiJAK SA Expandable Cervical Stand-Alone Interbody system, the company’s second first-to-market expandable system in just 18 months.

The first implantation of the HiJAK SA Expandable Stand–Alone was performed by board certified neurosurgeon, Grant A. Skidmore M.D. of the Neurological Specialist group in Norfolk, Virginia.  “This device is a game changer for ACDF surgery. The ease of insertion, restoration of cervical lordosis and perfect alignment of the plate every time make it the pinnacle of technology for ACDF,” stated Dr. Skidmore.

HiJAK SA was developed forthe surgeon who recognizes the importance of restoring proper sagittal alignmentwhen addressingspinal deformities during anterior cervical fusion procedures (ACDF’s). The new device leverages the innovative design and clinical success of Atlas’s HiJAK ACAnterior CervicalExpandable Interbody platform launched in Q4 of 2018. Both HiJAK AC and HiJAK SA are the market’s first and only cervical implant systems to provide surgeons the intra-operative ability and mechanical advantage to adjust the height and lordosis specific to their patient’s anatomy and surgical needs. “We’re approaching two yearsof very positive clinical results with our HiJAK ACexpandable interbody, so the meritsof the technology have well been validated at this point,” said Matt Baynham, Atlas Spine’s CEO.

Along with all the benefits of its adjustable capability, HiJAK SA incorporates an integrated low-profile plate that, when compared to current stand-alone devices, significantly improves screw access, screw-to-bone purchase and overall construct integrity. “This system really offers unmatched capability in an extremely simple to use device. That coupled with its ability to accommodate minimally invasive approaches and reduce surgical times, make the system ideal for outpatient surgery procedures”. Continued Baynham.

Atlas Spine is currently welcoming inquiries for distribution of its growing product portfolio and hospital affiliations. For more information, please contact us at (561) 741-1180 or [email protected].
