IRVINE, CALIF. (PRWEB) MAY 12, 2022–Amplify Surgical, Inc., a medical device company focused on innovative minimally invasive surgery for the lumbar spine, is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first official dualPortal Endoscopic Technique Training since Amplify Surgical’s Inaugural Endoscopic Spine Symposium. The training was facilitated by Dr. Daniel K. Park, board certified orthopedic spine surgeon at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Park is one of the country’s leading experts in the #dualPortal endoscopic technique. Amplify Surgical has partnered with Dr. Park to help educate surgeons across the US in one of the most recent advancements in minimally invasive spinal surgery technique.
The program in Michigan was just the first of a continuing surgeon-led training series facilitated by Amplify Surgical, in which surgeons initially observe a dualPortal while the instructor responds to questions about the dualPortal technique, followed by a hands-on cadaver lab session where surgeons gain the firsthand experience necessary to bring the dualPortal method into their own practice. Dr. Park has even developed a specialized spine trainer to help teach the technique to surgeons safely and systematically.
Dr. Park is active in promoting spine care across the world and looks forward to teaching the dualPortal technique to surgeons across the country, stating, “It’s a pleasure teaching other US surgeons a novel new minimally invasive technique that will benefit their patients tremendously. Amplify’s dualPortal technology makes performing this procedure more simple. Thanks to Amplify Surgical who is leading the way in helping US surgeons become exposed to this technique.“
The dualPortal endoscopic technique was pioneered and popularized in South Korea but has just recently started gaining traction in the United States. It is a novel two-portal endoscopic approach to the spine that allows surgeons to easily learn and perform a wider array of lumbar spine procedures than the conventional one-portal technique. dualPortal differs from the uniportal endoscopic procedure by allowing the use of conventional spinal surgical instruments and giving greater flexibility, enhanced visualization of surgical anatomy, and increased surgical versatility.
