Aero-AL is an Anterior Lumbar Interbody and Fixation System that features Aerofoil™ Compression Technology, the only in-line ALIF (anterior lumbar interbody fusion) device to offer compression across the disc space.
Benefits:
Straight Forward insertion
Introducing StraightForward instruments
Make insertion StraightForward with Aero-C’s precision-guided instruments, which deliver anchors within a constrained system
- Rail-based instrumentation for accurate implant and anchor placement
- Fully guided system helps achieve reproducibility
Less invasive
Streamline your approach with in-line insertion
- Minimize tissue disruption with a less invasive approach
- In-line insertion reduces the potential for instrument impingement on the patient’s chin or chest
Remarkable compression
Introducing AerofoilTM Compression Technology
Secure Aero-C to the vertebral bodies with AerofoilTMCompression Technology
- Shaped like inverted plane wings, Aero-C’s unique anchors are designed to pull the vertebral bodies towards the implant as it is inserted, creating compressive forces at the implant-to-end plate interface
- In accordance with Wolff’s law, compression creates a healing environment known to stimulate bone growth2
- Integrated one-step locking mechanism is designed to lock anchors to the implant
Compression stabilization
Generate over 200 N of force1 with AerofoilTM Compression Technology
- Only in-line ACDF (anterior cervical disectomy and fusion) device to offer compression across the disc space
- Compressive force helps maximize segmental stability
Uniform loading
Designed to distribute compression uniformly across the full implant-to-endplate interface
- Large anchors designed to engage the anterior and posterior aspects of the implant
About ALIF Cages
Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is a spine surgery that involves approaching the spine from the front of the body to remove disc or bone material from in between two adjacent lumbar vertebrae. The disc material is then replaced by cage containing bone graft or bone morphogenetic protein. The ALIF cage maintains normal disc height as the bone graft fuses with the bone of the vertebrae above and below to stabilize the spine.
About Stryker
Stryker Corporation is a Kalamazoo, Michigan based medical equipment firm which develops and produces medical implants,,surgical and imaging technologies, as well as patient handling and emergency medical equipment.Stryker’s history is rooted in innovation. When Dr. Homer Stryker, an orthopaedic surgeon from Kalamazoo, Michigan, found that certain medical products were not meeting his patients’ needs, he invented new ones. As interest in these products grew, Dr. Stryker started a company in 1941 to produce them. The company’s goal was to help patients lead healthier, more active lives through products and services that make surgery and recovery simpler, faster and more effective.Today, Stryker is a global leader in the medical technology industry.
