Development
Within the first five years of its inception, Pioneer developed and provided an extensive line of orthopaedic products via well established alliances with industry leaders such as Zimmer Inc., Synthes USA, and DePuy Spine. Orthopaedic products remain an important and consistently growing business for Pioneer. Through these relationships, we acquired extensive competencies in manufacturing and significant strength in research and development capability. By rapidly designing products to precise customer specifications, Pioneer established effective vertical integration between our R&D and manufacturing processes which greatly enhanced our prototype capabilities, quality control, and speed to market.

Global Presence
Our European subsidiary was established in the Netherlands in 2006, following the introduction of the NuBac Disc Arthroplasty Device in Europe. Pioneer BV carries a full range of Pioneer’s spine products and works with distributors in several countries in Europe including the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Under CE marking, our innovative motion preservation devices are the main sales focus in Europe. Sales outside the U.S. are an integral component of our overall growth strategy.
In October 2008, Pioneer Surgical Technology Inc. and Bonovo Orthopedics Inc., a leading Chinese manufacturer and distributor of orthopaedic products, signed a comprehensive agreement that effectively opens the Chinese market for the distribution and sale of Pioneer’s full portfolio of spine products. Under the terms of the relationship, Bonovo will serve as Pioneer’s exclusive distributor of products for the Chinese spine market.
